Baby's got rythm!

25 weeks+ already!
I am halfway through my Dutch course at VU and so far so good! We had our halfway exam and so far I have scored 100% on the first section which was a listening excersie..OK alot of people got 100% as it was dead easy but Im still thrilled :)

Still so happy to be making friends there too, in fact on Friday night I actually went out to a club! It was a busy salsa club in Amsterdam and it was great, loud and busy but great to be out. Plus we were near the dancefloor so i got to watch alot of dancing..I miss it so much! But was way too shy to get out there...plus with all the people didnt want to get bumped around too much as still it isnt obvious that I am indeed pregnant!

Baby G seemed to enjoy the Salsa too I could feel him bouncing about. I seem to feel him more and more everyday and I know now that he knows my voice, so I even sing to him and at least play him some appropriate music..hence the guilt feelings when i whip out Britney's womanizer or Beyonce's single ladies :P I do have songs on mu ipod playlist I created just for him, its called Songs of the Heffalump and includes alot of Celine Dion's lullabye music as well as some others too. His movements are still a little small to be seen from the outside but I have seem my tummy give little shakes when he is active. Also he gives really soft poking touches like he is putting his hand against my tummy from the inside, he does this alot when Gerhard puts his palm flat on my lower belly - I call this giving Daddy "baby-5"

Lately as this pregnancy continues Ive been more and more tired. Early nights are a must for me and coming home after Uni to do homework and cook really takes it out of me. i dont know if it Baby's growth spurt perhaps? I see today i have officially 100 days to go til my due date and still it seems like its going so fast i just want to slow it down and catch up to it! I still find myself suddenly out of breathe climbing stairs, or having little pains when i walk to fast. This past weekend i carried a heavy grocery trolley which I know I should not have done (hubby was sick so he couldnt) and suffered a very stiff and sore back :(

Hoping I get some energy back soon!

A tale of 2 Heffalumps

I received an e-mail from my mom in law this week and she sent me some photos of all she has made and bought for baby (after receiving like a huge bagfull at christmastime!) and she has actually bought him the very same Heffalump toy! What are the chances? She doesnt even know we call him Heffalump or know what a Heffalump is (she referes to it as the 'purple elefant' )
Amazing.

Not too much else to report, we might finally be moving inot our bedroom this weekend - its not done 100% but the small touch ups can be done with our bed up so long, which finally clears Heffalumps room. Although Sadly Heffalumps room is far from finished or even being started. We might only start it in April or May which is cutting it a bit fine for me but the way we have chosen to go about it.

Dutch courses going super-well, its getting tough though. I can understand almost all the words because of the little i do remember from Afrikaans at school but the grammer totally screws me over. Looks like ill be doing some more studying this weekend! I know if I apply myself every day i should be alright, but the last 2 days (Thursday & Friday) when I have come home Ive had a 2,5 hour nap! I hope this is just baby's growth spurt tiring me out cos it cant become too frequent.

We are hoping for a relaxing weekend as my poor man has been working very hard this week on some course work he had to lecture about. So I will be baking cookies and watching movies :) and studying Dutch grammar of course...
